For 17 years Iowa Rockets volleyball has been known as THE place to go to TRAIN. There are multiple aspects of training. Technique training (skills) is critical to volleyball success. Execution of the correct technique greatly increases consistency and performance in volleyball. Ask around; you will hear over and over – Iowa Rockets is the best at technique training. Along with technique training, physical training gives players the athletic advantage to be better than “just average”. Game training and Volleyball IQ training sets apart the average player from the exceptional player. Players who possess knowledge of game flow, game situations, player tendencies, and smart choices make the game look stress-free and easy. Mental training is the ingredient that creates champions. With 4 National Championships, 12 National Qualifier Champions and 37 Iowa Region Champions – Iowa Rockets has the secret ingredient. Mental training does not happen on its own. Mental training must be taught and practiced week after week, year after year. Gym mentality happens at every practice. We come to each practice to have fun…and to WORK. With 21 teams and 35 coaches, train WITH and AGAINST the best players. Our “specialty practices” gather players and coaches from several teams into a weekly position-specific practice. Learn from coaches who specialize in YOUR position (setter, middle hitter, left/right hitters, and defensive specialists). There are three opportunities for Specialty Practice each week – based on your age and ability. Train alongside and scrimmage with highly talented players from other Rockets teams – week after week. Get the competitive advantage every time you step into the gym by working with and competing against THE BEST.
Reach your GOALS –
80% or more of ALL Rockets 14s players go into high school and play on upper level (Soph, JV, or Varsity) teams. It is no secret, Training, Volleyball IQ and Mentality will help you reach your high school goals. Year after year, Iowa Rockets has more incoming freshmen players on their HS Varsity team than any other club in Iowa. And they continue to be strong leaders throughout their high school careers.

Iowa Rockets provides every player the opportunity to achieve their potential. Many Rockets players who have earned college scholarships started on lower teams and through hard work and the opportunity to play against top players they have worked their way up to the top teams. What good is it to have a couple good players on a team when the other players are average? What good is it to have a good team but no other good teams to push you and complete against each time you step into practice. You are joining a CLUB with developmental and elite teams at every age – from 11s-18s; with all of their supports, the opportunities they provide, and the strengths they possess.
